With the deadline to the free upgrade of Windows 10 looming, Microsoft is trying to persuade people to update their computers by serving them a full-screen reminder. But please ensure you speak to the technical support team at Curo before proceeding with this installation.
Microsoft is keen to encourage as many Windows 7 and 8 users as possible to upgrade to Windows 10 before the free upgrade offer expires on 29th July. But in order to avoid any downtime, we urge you to seek advice before making the move to Windows 10.
Take our advice before upgrading to Windows 10
Microsoft’s latest operating system certainly offers some new and exciting features. But as with any major upgrade, Curo is urging caution and underlining the need to plan for any potential hardware incompatibilities or conflicts with your main application software.
Ever since Windows 10 was released last year, Microsoft has been criticised for bombarding users with nagging alerts to upgrade. These notifications began as small alerts in the bottom right corner of the desktop but have recently morphed into larger pop-ups, which display as soon as a user logs in to their system.
Now, at the last hurdle, Microsoft is issuing full-screen alerts which say: “Sorry to interrupt, but this is important. Windows 10 free upgrade offer ends July 29”.
Of course, Microsoft is keen to move all users on to the latest versions of its products and, ultimately, so is Curo. However, as an IT support provider, we are primarily concerned with the stability of your network and the performance of your individual workstations.
When confronted with the upgrade alerts, remember you have the choice to upgrade now, be reminded later, only be notified three more times not be notified again. Beware, the latter two options are harder to spot, as they appear on the left-hand side of the screen in small, purple text against a purple background.
